Confucius (Kong Qiu) is considered the most influential and respected philosopher in Chinese history. His ideas served as the foundations of Confuciusism. Not actual text was written by Confucius himself but is followers spread his teachings throughout the country. During his living years, Confucius was merely a teacher, and educator with many pupils. He called himself a transmitter of knowledge.
