1. 'Class does not support
automation' error on run
2. Missing dll file on update
3. Error returned on update
with no active internet connection
Known Issue 1: 'Class does not
support automation' error on run
Description: When running the software
in Windows 98 (and, potentially, in other versions of Windows also), the following error message is displayed: "Error 430:
Class does not support automation or does not support expected interface."
Propagation: All versions.
Cause: The software requires Microsoft
Data Access Components (MDAC). Usually, MDAC will be installed with the software
but occasionally, especially on older operating systems, it needs to be
installed manually.
Solution: Download the latest version of
MDAC for your operating system from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm#CCinfo
and follow the instructions there provided.
Known Issue 2: Missing dll file on update
Description: When running the update
function, the following error message is displayed: "Component 'msinet.ocx'
or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered."
Propagation: Version 1.00. To be
corrected in version 1.01.
Solution: (1) Download the
msinet.ocx file and place it in your Windows System directory. (Usually c:/Windows/System).
(2) From the Start Menu, select Run and type regsvr32.exe
msinet.ocx.
(3) Run the update function again.
Known Issue 3: Error returned on
update with no active internet connection
Description: When running the update
function on a computer with no active internet connection, the following error message is displayed: "An
unexpected error occurred... SQL Server does not exist or access is
denied".
Propagation: Version 1.00. To be
corrected in version 1.01.
Solution: This issue is by design. In
order to successfully run the update function, you must have an active internet
connection.
